West Central Railway Senior Secondary School, New Katni Jn. is owned and run by Ministry of Railways, Government of India. The school comes under Jabalpur Division of West Central Railway. The school was opened in 1961 at primary level. Mr. S. S. Butola was the first school in-charge of this school. After a few years, Primary School was upgraded to Middle School. Middle School building was inaugurated by Honorable General Manager of Central Railway, Mumbai Mr. M. V. Samual in 1978. After that it was upgraded to senior secondary level in 1986. It was affiliated to M. P. Board. Later in 2014 the school was affiliated to C.B.S.E. (Central Board of Secondary Education).
