Laboratories are stimulating places for Science students and since our children need to, practice their hands on experiments. The Physics, Chemistry & Biology Laboratories at West Central Sr. Sec. School cater to the needs of CBSE experiments. As many as 40 students can perform a wide range of experiments simultaneously while the teachers and lab-assistants always at hand provide constant supervision and guidance for optimum results. Projects can be developed of a very superior standard thereby encouraging investigative analysis and reasoning.
- Chemistry Lab: The Chemistry laboratory is designed while keeping all the statutory norms and safety standards. It is well ventilated as well as spacious. It has some of the most accurate digital measuring instruments required for measuring chemicals. In the lab, the students learn to handle apparatus and chemicals. They improve their understanding of various chemical reactions and chemical processes. It enables personal verification of important experimental facts. Logic and reasoning skills that develop in this lab will go a long way in ensuring success in later life.
- Physics Lab: Well planned, spacious and well equipped Physics lab has all the interesting sets of equipment to reinforce scientific and experimental concepts and facilitate in developing investigative skills. There are models, charts apparatus, kits, and experimental gadgets to cater the needs of students. In the Physics lab, students discover the law which governs a certain phenomenon or verify a given law which has been derived from a theory.
- Biology Lab: In the Biology lab, the students study detailed structures, morphological, histological and physiological aspects of plants and animals. Study of slides under the microscopes or studying the museum specimens kindles a natural curiosity towards Nature and instills a joy of learning the flora & fauna around us. All the equipment and specimens that we have in the lab are open for the school students to be used under careful supervision. This is a place where our students are given a chance to ‘discover’ before they are ‘told’. Children have the liberty to make models and projects by availing lab facilities.
- Computer Lab :School has well designed, developed and fully furnished Computer lab where students are given information and teaching related to computer and the work done by computer. In this computer age all the students have to be well equipped in computer education. For teaching computer education school has a well qualified teacher.
- Library: School has a well stocked and fully fledged library with various books on curriculum, general knowledge, fiction, literature, information technology, journals and magazines for information which are lent to the teachers and students for reference and reading. Students get best possible material to work with and are also given opportunities for the same.
- Scouts & Guides : Students of West Central Railway Senior Secondary School NKJ from std. 1st to 12th are registered members of West Central Railway State Scout and Guides. Cubs & Bulbuls, Scout & Guides, Rangers & Rovers with their mottos ‘Do your best’ “Be prepared” and “Service” respectively and engaged in various activities. It is compulsory from class 1st to 12th to have Scout and Guide uniform, they are trained systematically in Pravesh, and then they are sent for Rajyapaal and Rashtrapati Purashkar. They also participate in Jomboories of national and international level.
- Vandana Hall: The school has a big hall where big assemblies and meetings take place. This hall is well equipped with all the facilities like TV, Projector and Screen with sitting arrangement for showing educational movies to the students.
- Play Ground: A wide playground is situated in the middle of the school campus between the Primary section and the Sr. section. This ground is big enough to cater all the students while recess and the games period.
- Cycle Stand for Students: School has a cycle stand to arrange the cycles of the students in well manner without any hassle while coming and going.
- Purified Drinking Water and Water Coolers : School is equipped with purified drinking water of RO purifiers and water coolers are also available to provide cool water in summer.
